Can't install Intel driver support assistant
Either the user name was not recognised
Hi!
I have Q170 Intel chipset and was able to use remote control through AMT capabilities. It has been working for just a few months and then stopped. I got the message "Either the user name was not recognised, or the password was incorrect". I didn't forget password. I was able to use "incorrect" password to open AMT bios properties. I just turned off AMT in BIOS and turned it on again. Remote control function was returned back and I was able to use it during the next few months but I lost control and now I have the message about incorrect password again. I beleive I can use the same way to restore control as I've got permanent work. Can someone explain me what has happened and how to fix it? I've bios updated through the latest vendor software
Static IP address in SCS console while client's IPv4 Ethernet addresses keep changing
I'm a system admin and had the task to configure the MEBx PW of our vPro clients.
Using SCS on a W2012R2 VM in DB mode (SQL2014 Express), all my clients are configured in 'Admin Control Mode'.
For newly configured clients, the remote admin PW can be retrieved from the DB. All of this works very well indeed.
Now I want to find out how I can take advantage of the AMT features.
My problem at this point: as the (internal) IP address of my clients changes, the console's 'Get configured password' function becomes a bit of a lottery. Typically it fails and the client's 'Connection Status' changes to 'Disconnected'.
My question: I suspect that my SCS console's inability to keep up with the ever changing IPv4 Ethernet port addresses of my clients is part of the problem?
Can anybody confirm this?
The (Lenovo) clients:
- Win10 x64 1703, BitLocker=ON
- The BIOS is up to date
- The IntelME firmware is up to date
- We have a disjoint DNS name space. I.e. the SCS server's name space is different from the client's.
- DNS resolution from SCS server to client and client to server works
- The errors I'm getting:
Finishing Get configured password for UUID:E8DD1901-5472-11CB-9746-BD924F82E988, With returned status: Initial connection to the Intel(R) AMT device failed. (0xc00007d2). A TCP error occurred. Make sure that the destination settings are correct and that a network connection exists to the target. (0xc000521c).
If there's anybody out there who can give me a hint, I'd be very grateful.

IMSS configuration
I would like to control the user notifications settings in the IMSS (Intel Management and Security Status) utility.
How can this be controlled during or after an automated installation process?

Looking into remote management solutions for NUCs
Hello All,
I work at Wayfair within IT and we've bought a large amount of Intel NUCs for our environment. I would like to speak to a specialized tech member who can help me with the following:
Is there a way to remotely push BIOS updates to all of our deployed Intel NUCs?
Is there also a way to collect the amount of NUCs and how many of each model type that are currently deployed on our network? I'm wondering if there are tools available to use with SCCM or other platforms?
Please let me know!
Regards,
Ryan
When Zero Touch Provisioning fails...
we have a 3rd party management system which uses certs for zero touch provisioning. This works mostly, but if it doesnt there is a real lack of troubleshooting information on what happened.
Can anyone advise if logs are kept anywhere on the client from an Intel point of view around reasons for provisioning failures ? or what is the best troubleshooting process ?
why my AMT USB Provisioning cannot work?
why my AMT USB Provisioning cannot work? it always boot to OS.

Driver and Support Assistant does not Install
I was surprised to find out there is no canonical support for this tool, the error message does not suggest any feedback email or URL, and it is missing from the support page for software products, as far as I can see. Anyway, I recently installed the huge Windows 10 update and my PC should be as good as new, but the installer crashes, pointing to this log, any ideas?

IPT enterprise PKI solution?
Hi there,
I have been asked to implement a PKI solution for a customer using the Identity Protection Technology of Intel VPro.
We have an own Java CA on a Linux server and need to generate certificates signed by our CA for authentication, as well as e-mail encryption keys which also must be stored in the CA as a backup.
The Intel IPT documentation only advises to use their own IPT CA on a Microsoft server, but this does not match our environment.
The IntelJCE documentation Providing Hardware-based Security to Java* Applications by leveraging Intel® Identity Protection Technology and Java Cry… also seems to be insufficient for this use case.
So is there any way to implement this solution and where can I get the complete interface description?

Sandra
Operating system lockup or power interrupt events in AMT
We have about 1000 HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF machines and about 30% of them have a lot of events in AMT event log: Operating system lockup or power interrupt. It is logged on every time after restarting Windows 7 OS system. In Windows event logs all looks ok - no errors connected with these restarts. How to troubleshoot this? I google for this but cannot find any information which allows me to resolve this problem. I found e.g. AMT event log error where someone mention https://www.dmtf.org/sites/default/files/standards/documents/DSP0136.pdf but I cannot conclude anything from this. Below screen from one of our AMT events

Expired TLS certificate.
Hi All,
The TLS certificate that I was using in my configuration expired. It was then renewed but not when connecting to clients it shows as invalid but still connects. When you download the certificate it has the new expiry dated. I have tried un-configuring and re-configuring the client but it made no difference. I tried creating a new profile and configuring with that. I also tried running a maintenance task on one of the clients. any suggestions on what to do next? create a new certificate and reconfigure all machines?
Cheers,
Ross

HP ProDesk 600G3 With AMT Provisioned No UEFI PXE Boot possible with Bios>2.06
Hello,
We have a problem with the HP ProDesk 600G3.
With the default Bios version (version 2.06) and AMT Provisioned Everything works fine.
00.02.06 Rev.A | 18.3 MB | Jul 3, 2017 |
Due to Meltdown and Spectre we are updating our machines. And After the bios updates it seems that we can't use UEFi PXE boot anymore.
We have tried every bios version higher then 00.02.06 Rev. until version 2.16a released on Apr 11, 2018.
The situation stays the same.
We use one AMT Profile for all our desktop computers and only the HP ProDesk 600G3 has this problem.
Other systems: Dell Optiplex 7010 (SFF), Dell Optiplex 9020 (SFF) and Dell Optiplex 7040 (SFF) are working fine.
HP business support can't find the reason.
The only way at this moment to make UEFi PXE boot working again is to unprovisioning the AMT profile.
This keeps working until the AMT profile is automatically pushed to the system agian.
Is this a known error?
Can someone explain why this is happening and how to solve this problem?
Configurator Erroneously Sees Intel-SA-00075 Vulnerability
I'm attempting to configure a new system using ACUConfig.exe v11.2.0.35. The ConfigAMT command generates the following error message:
Exit with code 111.
Details: The detected version of the Management Engine (ME) firmware is considered vulnerable for Intel-SA-00075. It is highly recommended that you upgrade your ME firmware. Read the Public Security Advisory at https://security-center.intel.com/advisory.aspx?intelid=INTEL-SA-00075&languageid=en-fr for more information.
The system is not actually vulnerable to SA-00075, as confirmed by the Detection and Mitigation Tool, as the below screenshots will attest.
Any ideas how to bypass this error?
Intel AMT & MeshCommander
Hello Intel Community,
I am currently experiencing issues with Intel AMT and Meshcommander. I am having issues with installing the CentOS ISO via Intel AMT & Meshcommander. Also, while using MeshCommander I tend to lose connection to my AMT device whenever I reset or reboot my system. This in turn makes it difficult for me to install ISOs by resetting to the IDE-R CD . Could you please help me whenever you guys get the opportunity. Thank you for your time.
AMT Configuration failing
Hello,
I am fairly new to managing our company's Intel AMT application and I'm working on a problem that's come up recently.
We're migrating towards Windows 10 in our environment and recently built a remote call center that's running entirely on Win10 minus one system that runs an application that can only run on Win7. The win7 system is successfully configured with our RCS profile, but none of the Win10 systems will configure. They're using the same profile and creating the AD object to the same OU. We do have some Win10 systems in other locations that have been configured successfully, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the OS.
We're getting the following error for the Intel SCS Console with running the configuration:
Failed while calling
WS-Management call
GetAmtVersion (CIM_SoftwareIdentity.Get). Intel(R) AMT connection error
0xc000521f: An SSL error occurred. Verify the username and password, and the PSK or certificate settings, where applicable.
Valid certificate for PKI configuration not found.
We're using the Remote_Configure.bat (version 2.1) provided by Intel that runs the following command for configuration:
.\acuconfig /output console /output file Remote_Configure.log /verbose ConfigViaRCSOnly "%~1" "%~2" /RCSBusyRetryCount 3
ERROR:
Thread:14184(ERROR) : ACU Configurator, Category: Exit Source: Src\ActivatorMain.cpp : configurator::LogAndExit Line: 226: ***********Exit with code 75. Details: Failed to complete remote configuration of this Intel(R) AMT device. Failed while calling WS-Management call GetAmtVersion (CIM_SoftwareIdentity.Get). Intel(R) AMT connection error 0xc000521f: An SSL error occurred. Verify the username and password, and the PSK or certificate settings, where applicable. Valid certificate for PKI configuration not found.
And then runs the following for system discovery:
.\acuconfig /output console /output file Remote_Configure.log /KeepLogFile /verbose systemdiscovery /ReportToRCS /RCSAddress "%~1" /RCSBusyRetryCount 3
WARN:
Thread:11544(WARN) : ACU Configurator, Category: Exit Source: Src\ActivatorMain.cpp : configurator::LogAndExit Line: 226: ***********Exit with code 32. Details: Intel(R) AMT operation completed with warnings: System Discovery failed to get data from some of the interfaces on this system. Failed to get data from the GetDNSLookupName interface. Failed to get the FQDN. Call to function failed. DNS operation refuse
The Win7 system is running MEI 7.1.50.1172 and the Win10s are running MEI 11.6.0.1047. I noticed they both use the LMS.exe but only the version 7.x runs UNS.exe as well.
Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
